This is useful information that you can use to keep safe while blogging. There are ten rules that if followed, will keep you safe on the internet.
1) Never put your last name, address, or other personal contact information on your blog. Bad people could use this to scam you, or even steal your identity.
2) Do not link up our personal blog with your school blog. You may accidentally reveal information that you did not want to show to the whole world.
3) When voicing your opinion, be sure to not say anything negative about anybody or any thing.
4) Before posting anything, review it for grammatical errors. This will make you look more professional and will help to keep your information looking legitimate.
5) Never disrespect someone in your blog. This makes you look very bad. You would not want anyone to say something bad about you, don't say anything bad about them.
6) Never write about anyone without their permission. If they do happen to grant you permission to mention them, do not use their last name. As stated before, this could invite the opportunity of identity thieves.
7) Do not post profanity in excess. There are many people who see your blog and they do not want to see a stream of bad language.
8) Make sure that the things you post are correct. Don't post false statements; check your information twice.
9) Everything that you post on you blog should have a purpose. Don't have mindless jibber jabber that is not educational.
10) Everything that you post in permanent. Nothing can be permanently deleted. Before clicking "Publish" make sure that you are 100% sure that everything in that post is appropriate for the whole world to see.
